I'm very happy to share some exciting news with you...

This October, NEPA BlogCon will celebrate its 5th anniversary. You are invited, and there will be cake!

What started as an idea in 2012 to work with a small group of others interested in all things digital and good community works, has turned into an annual event that grows each year.

Penn State Worthington Scranton, will host the one-day conference designed to bring together bloggers of all experience levels, as well as other digital ninjas interested in marketing, social media, creativity, leadership, technology, and branding.

The big day is Saturday, October 15

NEPA BlogCon always draws a wide range of local, regional, and international talent. The agenda this year includes speakers like:

  • Tim Buckley, Partner Development Executive, Google
  • April Holgate, PA Health Access Network
  • Britney Kolodziej, bJaneCreative.com
  • Tim Gillette, Creator, Rock ‘n’ Roll Keys to Business Success
  • Elie Ashery, CEO, Gold Lasso
  • Christina M. Carrell, Mothering with Chronic Pain Blog
  • Sally Black, Founder, VacationKids.com
  • John Dawe MNA CNP, CFRE, Dawe Consulting Group, LLC
  • Valerie Deneen, Inner Child Fun Media, LLC
  • Amanda Fox-Rouch, Kaha Marketing

Indra Lahiri, Ph.D. and founder of Indraloka Animal Sanctuary in Mehoopany, PA, is this year’s conference keynote. She has taught, mentored, coached and keynote addressed tens of thousands with a focus on ethical leadership and compassion. Her previous speaking credits include the Animal Rights National Conference and International Animal Rights Conference. Her award-winning blog, which chronicles sacred moments with rescued animals, is followed by tens of thousands of readers on every continent.

Wow, the tickets must be expensive

While the conference is a professionally designed and artfully executed first rate production that would be right at home in NYC, Philly or Boston, the ticket price is so low, the only acceptable reasons to not attend are frankly non-existent. Thanks to the support of sponsors and partners like TecBridge, Penn State Worthington-Scranton, Moz, WNEP-16, Net Driven, Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber, Park Multimedia and other cash and in-kind sponsors, we are able to produce the event at an incredibly low cost to attendees.

Tickets are available for only $15 at NEPABlogCon.com and include admission to the conference and expo hall, SWAG, and lunch refreshments. So, whether you're local, or drive or fly in (AVP),  you shouldn't miss this day.

And after the day is done and our minds are invigorated but full, we'll all go unwind at an after party with live music by Orange Whip (confidential location TBA at the event)!

Making technology and new ways of thinking accessible is a vital part of our mission

Last year, NEPA BlogCon drew more than 200 local bloggers, technology influencers, students, and marketing professionals to Northeastern Pennsylvania. If you would like a chance to rep your brand and dialog with 200 mid-atlantic online influencers, the NEPA BlogCon Expo offers businesses, professional organizations, nonprofits, and other community resources an opportunity to meet and network with attendees. Vendor space is still available. Visit NEPABlogCon.com for details or let me know. There are also some sponsorship opportunities still available that I would LOVE to talk with you about!

NEPA BlogCon is unique in that all proceeds go to benefit non-profit and community education projects. It is organized by volunteers and could not be held without the support of sponsors, local businesses, attendees, and community leaders. Over the past 4 years, NEPA BlogCon has raised more than $10,000, for charity, with beneficiaries including Blue Chip Farms Animal Refuge, NEPA Veterans Multicare Alliance, and The Arc of Luzerne County.

Both NEPA BlogCon and its summer STEM education camp for girls in 4-6 grade, Squirrel Girls Tech Camp, are held in collaboration with sponsor organization, TecBridge, a regional collegial organization that collaboratively strives to create and embrace entrepreneurial opportunities with the purpose of growing technology and biotechnology wealth within the region.
