Farmville is Better Than Hate Spam

Jul 17, 2010 | Comments

My mom sent me this email today that made me want to puke. You may have seen this before. It was sent to her by a friend. Perhaps it will make a difference, perhaps not, but not for lack of effort on my part...

A Personal Day of Independence

Jul 03, 2010 | Comments

Not to take away from the glory of and honor to the United States of America on her anniversary of independence, but July 4th can be your Personal Day of independence too. Why is Social Justice a Topic for Debate?

Apr 11, 2010 | Comments

We get all caught up in our social life, career, our little microcosm and what happens in another part of the world or down the street is remedied by a couple bucks in the Salvation Army kettle when the bells ring or a tweet goes out to text five bucks to Haiti. As long as it's not us we can sleep at night and we don't have to sweat it too much....

Happiness is Not a Useful Word Anymore

Mar 14, 2010 | Comments

Motivated by Jessica Simpson's recent comment that she doesn't brush her teeth, I was going to blog about hygiene slackers in the workplace and how to deal with them. Most people would rather carry out a termination (fire someone) than have "the conversation" with an offender. However, a friend sent me this TED talk on happiness and it resonated so much with me it changed my mind. This is one time for me that hygiene can wait...
