@Jeff - I know that when it comes to sink or swim you won't drown. Try to make it next year, you'll like it!

@Laurie - I want to be part of the solution and walk the talk, not be part of the problem. That means I live passionately and spoil myself when I have time for leisure. Exactly what I'm doing right now on vacation. I want tools and efficiencies to give me the opportunity to do more of it too. We can't just sell it to candidates we have to lead by example. If we don't we're just being hypocritical, right?

I think we're on a WALL*E/Matrix path. Our bodies will be harvested for power (matrix) and our minds will be distracted with stupid consumer stuff (Wall*E). We'll outsource and eliminate work so we can focus on leisure and passion, which makes our lives even more vapid and sad.

I'm kinda serious. Where do recruiters fit into the world when we tell people that leisure and passion are primary motivators?

Glad the unconference met expectations and you had a lot of fun, too. I agree with your thoughts. In a phrase, adapt or die!
