This explains it! I was going to ask because I did receive that email. I knew it wasn't you and that something was up!

You are my hero…My gmail account was compromised on Friday, too. I was in the account so I was able to report the “new bank account” mentioned immediately. I only sent one message to my perp–”I know you're in here, and I've already reported you.”

When I was young, my dad taught me a pink slip test: if it is going to matter in five years, care about it. Unfortunately, the amount of harm a cyberthief can do in five minutes can matter in five years if you don't take care of it. But if you're like me, what happens to Sheepa matters equally as much–and more–as fending off cybercriminals. I hope she's okay, too…

Best wishes for the week ahead–may you have many blessings and no headaches.

Karla,

I am so sorry this happened but what a story and lesson for all of us about friends, technology, and hackers. I hope you gave the jerk the virtual kick in the pants he needed.

Margo – Thanks, the end of the world hasn't come yet so why act like it, right?

Chandlee – I'm a huge fan of the pink slip test but as you said, time is relative. It would be nice to think my hacker career coaching worked but I would be deluding myself!

Hi Jessica – Thanks for stopping by. Though I'm sure he won't (hacker dude are you out there?) read this I wish he would…

Hi Karla, I was hacked with the same message – somehow thru my FB account and then to my msn outlook. Totally SUCKS, but you know you have a true friends when they call you and ask if they can help. Thanks for your blog – nice to know I'm not alone. @moverchick
